Ramin Bakhtiari has been playing pool for over 20 years. It all started at a pool hall in Orange County where he used to frequent for lunch because it was right down the street from where he worked. As he started to go in there more often, he started noticing the game. From the very beginning, Ramin has had a deep appreciation for the sport of pool. He considers it to be more of an art form than anything. With practice, hard work, and a little grace, he has taken himself from an amateur level, to a local champion. His vast understanding of the game and all its elements allows him to comfortably execute winning shots, and dominate his opponents. Ramin loves to help his fellow player to understand more of the game, and in turn, to appreciate its true beauty. His fellow players love to watch him study the table and execute incredible shots. His students will testify on his ability to dissect their game and offer them simple suggestions to improve themselves. While he makes it look easy sometimes, it is only out of pure experience. Now Ramin is willing to share that experience and knowledge with YOU!
Why Ramin "The Machine" you ask?
"I didn't know how good Ramin really played until we played a 100 point rotation match, in a local Southern California Tournament. I jumped out to a big lead, when he made a great comeback and almost won with a 49 ball run! If you don't know rotation, that is a VERY good run. I managed to barely win the match, but it was after that, when I started to call him Ramin 'The Machine!'"

A bit more...
Ramin has been an active participant of the pool and billiards scene for over 20 years. He has been a part of such tournaments as the J. Swanson Memorial, the Chuck Markulis Memorial Tournament, The Reno Open, and many more. He participates regularly in the Hard Times Billiards, "First Sunday of the Month" tournament, and various local tournaments in the Orange and Riverside County area.
In 2012, the adventure took a different kind of turn. Playing and coaching was not enough, so he decided to join forces with Mary Ann Starkey and help her in a project. GoPlaypool.com was created after months of prep work. It is going strong, and if you'd like to learn more you can visit the website or download the free app.
And the adventure continues...
